In 1943 Johanna was born, my mother. That’s when they moved to the house on Adolfstorgasse.
My mother says that grandfather was a communist. He was required to be in the German army but he never went to the front. Even though he didn’t know how to drive, he managed to be assigned as a chauffeur to a general. No too long ago she told me that she wished she had asked him more things about the war.
