Vienna, October 13, 1989

The leaves on the trees turned red, the air is clean and cold. In the house a deep silence surrounds us.

Sometimes I ask myself why I came to live in Vienna. I believe I felt this was the only place I could find myself. I look at the photographs I’ve taken in the last few months. I try to catch that strangeness that I feel being here. I can’t see this reality, my own hallucinations appear before me all the time. That’s what I want to photograph.
